Can You Believe It!?

We’re already in March my lads and lassies and that means St. Patty’s Day, so let the shenanigans begin….but be careful please! This month in the eye health world, it is Workplace Eye Wellness Month and Dr. Kash has some tips to pass along to stay safe!

Whether it’s a job in a factory, office, or chemical filled lab, eye safety should be top priority! After all, we need our peepers to peep what we’re doing so we can keep doing what it is we’re doing! You with me so far?!  Good! Here are some helpful reminders to help keep your eye health intact, no matter the setting.

  • When it comes to computers in the office or your mobile device, to avoid digital eye strain be sure to look away from the screen every so often! Investing in a good pair of blue light blocking is also not a bad idea, especially when your work requires you to spend long hours in front of the screen!
  • According to PreventBlindness.org, when working in front of a computer, you should place the screen just below eye level, and at least 20 to 26 inches away from you.
  • As far as industrial or construction jobs, proper safety eyewear is imperative! If there is debris or any particles flying around, safety glasses with proper side shields are important.
  • Safety goggles are the necessary protection when work involves chemicals.

So remember, if you can’t see, you can’t work or many other things for that matter! Stay safe and just be aware of your surroundings! Exercise caution and keep your eyes well! Until next time my friends!
